Mayfest
Here comes the 44th Anniversary of Mayfest coordinated by The Rotary Club of Bluffton! We are excited to be back this year and are planning for a great event which will feature more than 130 artists and food vendors.
Mayfest, also known as The Bluffton Mayfest, is considered one of the best hometown festivals in the country and ADMISSION IS FREE!! Get ready for an outstanding event featuring local and regional arts and crafts, great music, and delectable local foods up and down the street, our hilarious Ugly Dog contest and the messy, funny, pie eating contest.
This year’s featured artist is Nancy Patrick Carney
Nancy Patrick Carney’s imaginative original paintings invite us to see the people, places and animals of the South Carolina Lowcountry in a fun and fanciful light.
With a degree in art from Miami University in Ohio, Nancy has worked as a commercial artist, package designer, product and book illustrator and art teacher to both children and adults. As a fine art painter, her work has evolved over the years to the whimsical style she is known for today. A love of art history, a knowledge of the elements and principles of design and composition, and the use of expressive color guide her creative process.
Since moving to Bluffton in 2016, Nancy’s acrylic and collage paintings have developed a casual, beachy, playful quality that reflects the “Bluffton State of Mind.” Puffy little beach birds, joyful mermaids, colorful turtles and ladies dancing on the beach are some of her common themes.
Since 2018 Nancy has been a partner at the Pluff Mudd Gallery in historic old town Bluffton, South Carolina where you can see her original work daily from 11 to 5. She also shows at the Art League of Hilton Head on Hilton Head Island, SC, as well as with the All About Art Club in Sun City. Her cards and prints and other products are available through Fine Art America.
